Bio

Bull City Syndicate is substantially more than just your average variety act -- in fact much more. Not only is Bull City Syndicate a unique blend of horns, vocals, and instrumentation, but it is also one of the most in-demand bands in the Mid-Atlantic US, whose client list reads like a Who’s Who of America’s largest companies and charitable organizations.  Among those:  AT&T, Glaxo Smith-Kline, SAS, American Heart Association, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, American Cancer Society;  as well as many city and state sponsored events. BCS has also been honored to be chosen as the headlining entertainment for the two most recent North Carolina Governor's Inaugural Balls.

Proudly named after the city of its birth, Durham, North Carolina, Bull City Syndicate is its own band, with its own original style and flair. Highlighting an intricate fusion of danceable R&B, funk, rock, jazz, swing, classics and current Top-40 – featuring the BCS Horns, they deliver 4-horn firepower and soaring vocals every time they perform live.

Bull City Syndicate started as a blues band in 1993, formed originally with five members. The band then morphed into a 70’s retro band and eventually expanded its repertoire to 80’s, 90’s era music, as well as contemporary Top-40.  Uniquely, BCS is the only band in the region that features its horn section on the front line – merging the sounds of the classic horn bands with the songs of today.

What originally started out as just a hobby for the original members, playing local clubs and street parties, eventually transformed into a high-profile event band. The band’s line-up now consists entirely of professional musicians with formal training and experience, most with music-centered degrees. Many of the band members are also music teachers and have careers focused in the music field. This experience and background gives Bull City Syndicate unparalleled ability to perform virtually any genre of music, from Funk and R&B, to Rock, Jazz, and Pop – even Classical – with the skills to cater to the needs of any audience or clients’ expectations.

Bull City Syndicate has been building a loyal and ever-growing fan base for over 20 years in the Triangle area and elsewhere, having been featured at the largest regional music festivals, colleges, top-shelf weddings and corporate parties, as well as high-profile national charity events.

Bull City Syndicate continues to remain a force in the regional music scene and a favorite of local audiences in their hometown.
